RIAI publishes house + design 2024
The RIAI has published the 2024 issue of our popular consumer magazine house + design. The magazine features 11 stunning Irish homes designed by Registered Architects as well as professional advice for those seeking to build, renovate and extend, and the latest news on Irish Architecture and design.
The projects featured in this edition range from micro extensions to comprehensive home renovations and from new homes on challenging urban sites to houses in stunning landscape settings. All projects demonstrate how Registered Architects can transform a client’s brief into a well-designed home that shines with the owners’ personality.
Once again, this edition is packed with professional advice – from how to begin your journey with an Architect to avoiding common pitfalls in a home renovation project.
As we need to make our homes more resilient to climate change and energy efficient, we have created a new content section where we provide information on available grants and advice on making a more comfortable and sustainable home. Garden designer Nicola Haines offers guidance on a sustainable garden design.
Last but not least, we visit the County Cork studio of leading Irish designer Joseph Walsh, where he has created a series of ‘Rambling Houses’ with Architects O’Donnell + Tuomey, built from local materials with traditional skills and crafts.
