The RIAI Simon Open Door campaign, which ran both in person and online from 7 - 13 April 2025, saw members of the public take part in over 700 consultations with RIAI Registered Architects nationwide, in return for a €125 donation. The hour-long consultations took place both online and in person, and all funds raised went directly to the Simon Communities of Ireland to support projects and vital services across the country.
Subject to our final campaign accounts, the RIAI is delighted to announce that this year’s RIAI Simon Open Door campaign raised over €90,000 to help tackle the homelessness crisis. Over the past 21 years, the RIAI Simon Open Door campaign have raised more than €1.5 million for the Simon Communities of Ireland.
At the launch of this year’s campaign, RIAI CEO Kathryn Meghen said:

The focus on upgrading and future proofing homes continues as people seek to make their homes more sustainable and more adaptable to their future needs. The RIAI Simon Open Door Campaign is an excellent way to explore options and contribute to an important cause.
“For 21 years, Registered Architects have generously donated their time and expertise, helping homeowners across Ireland while raising vital funds for Simon Communities of Ireland. The funds raised helped to renovate Simon Communities properties, ensuring that vulnerable individuals had a safe place to call home. We are incredibly proud to continue this partnership and encourage homeowners to take part, whether they are planning a new build, a retrofit, or simply seeking expert advice.
