Interface to explore the future of workplace design at Clerkenwell Design Week

Flooring company and global leader in sustainability Interface will return to Clerkenwell Design Week to bring inclusive design, wellbeing and circularity to the fore.

With curated panels of industry experts joining Interface at its Pennybank showroom in the heart of Clerkenwell, the company will explore the psychology of colour in workplace design and how to take a broader perspective with circular thinking. Guided by Interface’s design and sustainability experts, visitors will also take a journey through the flooring product life cycle and get exclusive previews of Interface’s new collections.

Activity will start on Tuesday 21 May with a morning seminar on the role of colour and texture in supporting neurodiversity in the workplace, hosted by Interface’s concept design lead, Laura Light, and behavioural psychologist Karen Haller.

Interface will also host an evening session on Tuesday 21 May, delving into circular product design and specification. Interface’s Regional Sustainability Manager UKIME, Becky Gordon, will be joined by circular economy designer and lecturer Claire Potter and tp bennett project designer Lucy Bagshaw to host an interactive session that uncovers the true meaning of the circular economy, and how the interior design field can actively contribute. Attendees will be encouraged to think beyond end of life, and how to take a truly circular approach to the product design and specification processes.

Also at this year’s event, Interface will preview two of its upcoming collections – carpet tile collection Etched and Threaded and LVT collection Earthen Forms. Designed to work together, the modular tiles are the product of decades of sustainable innovation and are made to last. Drawing on organic woodgrains, cool travertine stone and the warmth of luxury textiles, these collections create peaceful office sanctuaries with biophilic influence.

Clerkenwell Design Week takes place from 21-23 May 2024.
