County Wexford is in the province of Leinster and has a population of 163,527 persons (2022 Census). This represents an increase of 13,805 or 9.2% since the previous 2016 census.

Wexford County Council is one of the county’s major employers, currently employing  approximately 900 staff with 450 retired personnel.

Job Description

An opportunity now exists in Wexford County Council for the position of Senior Executive Architect.

The Senior Executive Architect will work as part of multi-disciplinary team within Wexford County Council’s Housing Capital section to deliver on the social and affordable programme targets.

Reporting to the Senior Architect, or such other designated person(s) as may be assigned from time to time, the post holder will deliver a programme of architectural work and provide advice to the County Council on architectural matters.

The holder of the post is expected to have an excellent knowledge of current building control process, health and safety, planning and procurement legislation, as well as construction contract administration and project management. They will oversee the delivery and supervision of a high-quality architectural service to a diverse client base and work collectively with various departments within the Local Authority, other state agencies and the local community.

The Programme of Work will primarily focus on project managing the planning, design and delivery of large-scale architectural projects within the County in line with annual targets but may involve other duties.
