The SHARE Housing Complex (1988 - 1990)
Architect:
City Architects Department, Cork Corporation
Award Type:
Silver Housing Medal
Location:
Cork
This project, which incorporates an inner city block, combines housing for the elderly with public family housing. the architectural resolution of the programme is classically urban. In essence, it is a skin of habitation wrapped around two courtyards. The "Share" courtyard is cloistered while the housing courtyard combines private gardens and a communal space.
