Fallahogey Studio
Architect:
McGarry Moon Architects Ltd.
Award Type:
Irish Architecture Awards
Location:
Kilrea, Coleraine
On approach the studio nestles in front of the main house, resembling the clusters of agricultural and farm buildings in the surrounding countryside. The corten steel cladding is lifted off the ground, allowing a glimpse into the lower working space, recessed in the ground with glazing all round. Every inch of this building is used, thoughtfully considered, designed with minimal waste of materials. It is an inspirational place to be in and a fantastic model for a new kind of rural workplace
