13-18 City Quay, Grant Thornton HQ
Architect:
Henry J Lyons Architects
Award Type:
Irish Architecture Awards
Location:
Dublin
The scheme seeks to positively engage with its prominent location on the quay front, enhancing the profile of St. Mary’s Church, while at the same time producing a headquarters building of distinctive character. The building form aims to create a backdrop of uncomplicated geometries, establishing an appropriate foil to the silhouette of the church. These forms are wrapped in a simple skin, consisting of a series of bronze anodised aluminium ‘fins’ which rise vertically across two floors, creating a double order within the facade.
